FOOTBALL HERO HEALING 1 July 2007

I’ve been playing football for the Diamond Valley Masters on a Sunday afternoon.  Last Thursday I pulled a muscle in my right calf.  During the warm up before the game last Sunday I tore my right calf at the top of the muscle.  The trainer wanted me to come off.  Being the hero I am, I told him just to put a pressure bandage on it.  I kept playing but after 20 mins it continued to tear and I took a severe knock to my other leg.  My day was over.  By Monday the swelling just under my left knee was about the size of half of a cricket ball and badly bruised. I couldn’t stand on my right leg at all and I was in a great deal of pain.

At the Tuesday morning staff prayer meeting those who had been to Florida laid hands on the other staff for impartation. I wasn’t going to participate as it felt weird to ask God to heal my self inflicted injury and I didn’t expect anything to happen…however the swelling in my left leg completely disappeared and there was no pain at all.  Ally said to me “now do something you could not do.” So I started walking on it and I had no pain at all. I could also walk freely on my right leg and the pain has gone. Everyone laughed as I came in barely able to walk and was now asking for a footy to have kick around.

I said “I don’t get it. If I jumped off a cliff and broke my legs, I wouldn’t expect God to heal them”.  I am grateful and astounded that He cared enough to heal even my self inflicted pain.
