TREASURE HUNT - page 2 1 July 08

WOW, what a night, thank you for including the treasure hunt in the healing class, it was so good I'm loving it!

My clues from God were

Location: street, tree, park bench, fog, road/walkway/path, near shopping centre Knox
Person's Name: Patricia
A Persons Appearance: jeans, t-shirt (black over a white polo long sleeve top), brown hair, hazel eyes, slim stressed looking and smoking a cigarette.
What they might need prayer for: split up with her boyfriend and pregnant
The Unusual: a sword - sparkling shinning sword, a necklace with a pendant in the shape of a pendulum and shinning left near a park bench

Well, it all started when we got in my friends car and her sons sword was at my feet.  It was a sign of encouragement. We were laughing as it was making sounds every time the car moved – getting into the Holy Spirit, I think so!!. Off we went driving towards Knox Shopping Centre and all of a sudden my friend is sharing a story with me which I personally needed to hear as sign of encouragement and hope for my life – thank you God, that was a bonus.

We arrived at Knox Shopping Centre and immediately I approached a girl sitting on a bench smoking a cigarette and asked her if her name was Patricia.  She was so kind and responded no and asked why, so I told her I was on a treasure hunt looking for a girl named Patricia. I should have known as this girl had bright yellow/blond hair – my clue was brown hair- I was a little too enthusiastic so re-focused on the exact clues God gave me and away I went, through all the alleys where there were park benches and then I started walking on the outskirts of the Knox Shopping Centre.

Not long after a friend joined me. He was looking for someone wearing yellow pants. We first went looking for Patricia and came across a bench – I said, “that’s it” but there was no sign of Patricia.  I looked down and there was something sparkling near the bench in the grass, it was a piece of shinning steel off a pen in the shape of a pendulum. Well, I thought  Patricia had to have been somewhere close.  So we continued to walk and walk and walk and walk and we walked around the whole shopping centre.  It was a great walk, we had a good chat and walked. Out of the chat I asked my friend, “ is there a bike track around here somewhere?” and he said yes I can take you to it.  So we – guess what? We walked and walked and talked until we got there.

I turned around to my friend and said – I should have brought that torch you gave as gifts to your guests as it was dark and I couldn’t see the horizon. All of a sudden he pulls out the torch from his pocket! We thought, wow, we must be close now.  We scanned the area and no sign of Patricia.  We had covered all ground and decided to head back to meet back with the group.  As we approached the coffee shop, he was about to order a coffee when he shouted – “the yellow pants, there’s the yellow pants!” so we walked briskly towards the girl with the yellow pants.

She was with a friend and heading towards the movies.  We finally reached her and I asked, “excuse me, but is your name Patricia?” She said no and then my friend said “you see we are on a treasure hunt and your on our map, you’re the lady with the yellow pants” she said “what’s that?”.  My friend proceeded to explain that we pray for people and she replied “you mean like God pray” and we said yes.  He explained that God wants to tell her that he loves her.

She and her friend were 10 minutes late for their movie and we didn’t end up praying for her because they had to rush off but she was sure wowed and touched by Gods love - we also discovered that someone else had approached her before us, there was a definite sparkle in her eye after she had us turning up.  You could see by the look on her face that she was touched by Gods love.

It was a wonderful and encouraging experience.  Its funny you know, in February/March of this year I undertook a quiz where “evangelistic” behavior was the lowest on my list as a strengths in the gifts from god.  But after this experience and the course, I feel encouraged to get out there more and start sharing the goodness of God.
