Testimonies (Oct 09)

A couple of weeks ago I spent the day with a group of people from a bunch of different churches down in the SE. We spent a few hours training and then went out into the local shopping centre to put it into practice.
We saw healings, miracles and salvations. Here is the video link to just a few of the testimonies we saw that day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3D07BdLouI

Testimonies (May 09)

A couple of weeks ago I was at home, sick. I received a phone call from a maintenance man who wanted to come around & do some repairs on the house we rent. I tried to put him off, but he was very persistent, so eventually I caved and told him it was fine for him to come over. When he arrived I was pleasant, but really didn’t feel up to having company. He was in the dinning room pulling the back door off its hinges and I was in the kitchen making a coffee, when out of nowhere he says “You’re a Christian aren’t you?” I had a quick glance around the room trying to see if there was anything that could have given him that impression, but nothing. No bible on the table, no worship cd playing in the background. Nothing! I had been watching tv and I don’t think I had even prayed that morning. I was sick.

I sheepishly answered his question with a “Yes, Why?”
He told me that he could tell because it oozed out of me. There was just something different about me. He then shared that he doesn’t believe in God, but thinks there is probably something out there. A few minutes into the conversation he downed his tools and our conversation went deeper. For about half an hour my landlord was paying this guy to hear the gospel.
You never know when God will bring an opportunity along. Even when you don’t feel like it, God is able to connect with people through you. I wanted to tell you this story to encourage you to take the opportunities God brings to you. It is an experience you won’t want to miss.

Testimonies (Sept08)

About 7 weeks ago I was at a party enjoying myself with my friends, when I noticed a young woman sitting on her own on the other side of the room. She looked so awkward and uncomfortable that I felt like I should go and speak with her for a bit. So that's what I did. I excused myself from my friends and went and spoke with her. She only knew the host of the party and he was off mingling with everyone, so she was left on her own. I sat with her and we talked about a whole bunch of different things, including God. From that moment I felt God wanting to break into her world, but felt not to push.

Then last week I heard that a close friend of hers had died and she was totally devistated and not coping well at all. I got in touch with her, via a third person, to see if she wanted to catch up for coffee, but she wasn't interested. So I prayed - for 5 days! Then last Sunday we sent her a text asking if she wanted to have coffee, but she wasn't up for it. So we called - my boyfriend spoke with her while I prayed. Then I said "tell her to meet us at Knox in half an hour" and she said "ok". So we did. We spent the whole afternoon with her and then invited her to church. Before church we went back to my place and dropped her car off - I didn't want her leaving early. She came to church and at the end of the service she gave her life to Jesus. It was amazing. I called her the next day and she was still on top of the world. God is so good!

This story may sound effortless and in some ways it was easy to bring her to Jesus, but the amount of prayer that went into this one person was huge. If we do the behind the scenes work (PRAYER), then the rest will seem effortless.

City Invasion Testimony (August 08)

Before going out we asked God who He wanted us to speak with and we wrote these words down. Then we went out looking for who it was God was leading us to.
Sometimes it's easy to focus on the words and miss the opportunities.

As we wandered around two of us saw a lady sitting in the food court eating dinner with her daughter and felt to go and speak with her. So we went and sat on the table next to her and started up a conversation. We ended up speaking for over an hour. It felt as if we had all known each other for years. She was so open and even showed us photos of her husband and family. Although the conversation never went to a spiritual place it was plain to see her countenance had lifted after our conversation.

It wasn't until after we had left that we realised the words God had given us and how they related to this lady and her daughter.

Pink - they were both wearing pink
The smell of rice - they were eating rice for dinner
Child - pretty obvious
Can of 7up - the little girl was drinking a can of sprite, but the cans look pretty similar
Goes to show, God is into details, but not limited by our understanding, or observation skills.

I have no doubt I will meet Anna and Sophia again and for the young girl I was with, who was experiencing City Invasion for the first time, it was a huge confidence boost and learning experience.
God loves people and all we did was allow His love for these two precious people to come out in our conversation.
The little three year old was so drawn to us that she wanted me to come home with her. That's a powerful connection!
